"We are your whānau in Aotearoa"
This piece is dedicated to our Palestinian whānau.
It is a visual metaphor, a longing to become a manu, to fly across the world and awhi those who are suffering needlessly.
The bird on the left is the Palestinian Sunbird, a symbol of resilience and identity. Opposite it sits the Kōkako, a manu known in Aotearoa for its gift of Manaaki.
Together, the two birds represent one culture reaching out to another, a gesture of support, care, and a shared hope for freedom. This work dreams of a world where all are free to fly, unrestricted.
100% of proceeds will go directly to @weareyourwhanau supporting Mohammed, a medical student in Egypt who is also providing for his whānau living under occupation in Palestine.
This digital print is high-resolution and can be printed up to A3 size.
